| "Bishopsland, has become known for its output of fine silversmiths and jewellers, who having qualified from Art College need a year to assess the future, start on the self-employed ladder or most often build a portfolio before applying to the RCA for an MA." -j-dex magazine September 2004 |

Bishopsland Educational Trust is a registered charity, which has spent the last fifteen years assisting young silversmiths and jewellers to develop their careers. We are focused on developing the next generation of Silversmiths, through our Contemporary Apprenticeship - recent graduates arrive, become self-employed, and work with tutors to develop their potential business. See Members page for details. Most Members who complete their year become members of the Bishopsland Fellowship, and some have returned as visiting tutors. Fellows receive the Bishopsland Newsletter, are regularly invited to Private Views and also, where possible, take part in shows and exhibitions. For a list of senior fellows and images of their commissions - see the fellows page. Bishopsland attends a number of exhibitions and events each year, to allow the members and fellows to display their work and seek commissions - see the exhibitions page Bishopsland also provides the opportunity for un-trained laymen to try out silversmithing through short-courses such as "Ring in a day" see the short courses page.
