The Bishopsland Standard

There are no exams at Bishopsland but we suggest that you will want to monitor your progress. We have devised the Bishopsland Standard so that you have something to aim for. It is based on what previous residents have achieved and you may like to use it as a sort of checklist. It is unlikely that you will be able to complete all the standards, but you should be able to reach, or beat, a selection of them, particularly if you are a jeweller. Silversmiths will find it takes them longer to make progress.

If you are proposing to apply for an MA course, we suggest you concentrate on your application until you have completed it. After that, aim for the Bishopsland Standard.

Everyone at Bishopsland is self-employed and you should aim to get work shown and, if possible, sold as soon as you arrive. In this sense it is a unique training course where you are encouraged to start earning as soon as possible.
